Proposed Bylaws Change 1Title: Amendments for Inclusivity and Expanded Participation in International ACACProposal Overview: This proposal seeks to amend Article 1 of the International ACAC bylaws for the following purposes:
Background: In accordance with the current bylaws, the privilege to vote in annual elections and serve on the Executive Board were reserved to only not-for-profit universities, colleges, secondary schools, organizations, and individuals. Members affiliated with for-profit organizations, including those who transitioned from eligible voting positions, were excluded. Additionally, there is language in the existing bylaws that suggest that what’s defined as international, is outside the United States. This excludes the Presidential Team, who must remain active members of NACAC for International ACAC to remain compliant with its affiliate agreement. Background: Initially, NACAC membership was mandatory for all Executive Board members due to the requirement of attending the annual NACAC conference. Rationale:
